Subscription Entitlement Service (SES) is Bentley's licensing service, providing enhanced security and optimized value for your Bentley Subscriptions. It is integrated with Bentley's Identity Management System (Bentley IMS) and the Bentley CONNECT technology platform to allow near real-time reporting of usage, improved alert messaging to users and increased administrative capabilities to license administrators in your organization. It not only provides more options to monitor and manage usage but also advanced licensing features that enhance digital workflows.

SES licensing was first introduced for just ProjectWise Explorer and ProjectWise Administrator clients in ProjectWise CONNECT Edition Update 3.4. Starting with ProjectWise 2023, ProjectWise Design Integration now fully supports SES licensing on all ProjectWise Design Integration clients, including ProjectWise Explorer versions prior to CONNECT Edition Update 3.4.

For ProjectWise Explorer versions 3.3 and earlier, SES is fully supported only when using IMS authentication, and only partially supported with ProjectWise native and Windows authentication.

Licensing costs for each ProjectWise user in a datasource can be configured to either be incurred by the user's organization, or to the organization that owns the datasource.
